Most buyers only see the beginning and the end of the import journey—you pick a car online and it eventually arrives at your door. But what really goes on in between? The process is more complex than most people realise. Understanding each stage helps explain why precision matters and how Bitmalo manages risk at every step.
The journey starts with the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). This 17-character code shows everything: the car’s make, model, engine type, and where it came from. Our team checks the VIN against official databases and the seller's papers, to be sure the car matches what was advertised. For many places, VIN checks are also needed for emissions rules and registration.
Next is a proper, detailed inspection. Apart from pictures, this covers checking variants, emissions conformity, safety equipment, and reports on the car's condition. Once you give your approval, Bitmalo issues an invoice and acts as the buyer of record, making sure the title is secured and getting everything ready for export clearance.
Once all the paperwork is done, the car is cleared to be exported. Depending on where it's going, it’s loaded into a sealed container, onto a Ro-Ro vessel, or into a secured air cargo hold. Every single shipment comes with all-risk insurance to protect your asset while it's moving.
When it arrives, the vehicle goes through customs. Duties, VAT, and local charges are calculated. Bitmalo’s licensed brokers submit entries, classify the car under the correct tariff code, and make sure documents like the bill of sale, export title, and inspection report follow local rules.
Once it’s released, the car is moved by a covered carrier to your city. Bitmalo also gives you a registration pack, with advice specific to your country—whether it’s emissions stickers in Germany, Crit’Air compliance in France, or REPUVE inscription in Mexico.
The journey from VIN to your driveway is complicated, but with the right partner, it feels easy. Bitmalo arranges every stage so your only work is to choose the car.
