Most buyers see the start and the end of the import journey—you pick a car online and it eventually arrives at your door. But what happens in between? The process is more intricate than most realise. Understanding each stage helps explain why precision matters and how Bitmalo manages risk at every step.
The journey begins with the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). This 17-character code reveals everything: make, model, engine type, and market origin. Our team verifies the VIN against official databases and seller documentation, ensuring the car matches its advertised specification. For many destinations, VIN checks are also required for emissions compliance and registration.
Next comes a detailed inspection. Beyond photographs, this includes variant checks, emissions conformity, safety equipment, and condition reports. Once you approve, Bitmalo issues an invoice and acts as buyer of record, securing the title and preparing export clearance.
With all paperwork complete, the car is cleared for export. Depending on the destination, it is loaded into a sealed container, onto a Ro-Ro vessel, or into a secured air cargo hold. Every shipment is backed by all-risk insurance to protect your asset during transit.
Upon arrival, the vehicle enters customs. Duties, VAT, and local fees are assessed. Bitmalo’s licensed brokers file entries, classify the car under the correct tariff code, and ensure documents such as the bill of sale, export title, and inspection report are aligned with local regulations.
Once released, the car is transported by covered carrier to your city. Bitmalo also provides a registration pack, with guidance tailored to your country—whether it is emissions stickers in Germany, Crit’Air compliance in France, or REPUVE inscription in Mexico.
The path from VIN to your driveway is complex, but with the right partner it feels simple. Bitmalo orchestrates every stage so your only job is choosing the car.
